Well I bought a Dinan Engine chip for my 93 318i, it worked great, it changes the rev limit, takes away the gov. and inriches the fule intake. When I bought my SC the two of them did not get along too well so I had to take it out after only having it in for a few months. I realize that this applys to a very small select few of you but if anyone with a 93 318 wants to buy a Dinan engine chip let me know, i'll give you a fair price on it. I do not belive the chip will work with a 94, only 93's but if you are intrested let me know

The part number is D900-1834E....from looking at Dinans Web site it looks like the chip will be able to fit your car, I called Dinan Myself to confirm this, i'm waiting for them to get back to me, but from the info up on their web site it should fit....I only had the chip in for about 2 months and would like to sell the chip for around $121 and that would cover shipping and insurance on the chip as well.

Scott,

I called Dinan and they said the chip will most likely work with your car but as to double check they said to make sure that your ECU number ends with 990, so look on your ecu and there should be a number on there, if they match then the chip will fit perfectly,

not a dumb question at all, i believe it to on the passenger side inside the engine compartment. There is a little panel that you can screw off thats located all the way to the upper left if you're looking at the engine compartment from standing outside the car. Once you take the panel off there is the DME computer on the bottom. You can take the engine computer out after detaching the wire harnesses.

I pulled my ecu out this weeken the last three #'s are 990.
What all did you have on your car with this chip? Did it do much for a power gain?
I have a CAI and exhaust and no cat.

In addition to the engine chip (at the time that the chip was in use) I had a Dinan Throttle body and exhaust, the exhaust did not add much Hp, it was just put on for sound, but between the throttle body and chip my zero to 60 time went from the high nines/ten, to mid 8 second range. You can really feel the diff. in starting off the line. 91+ octane is required to maximum performance and fuel efficiency. The chip will increase fuel economy and power by optimizing fuel and ignition curves. So Your red line goes from 6500 to 6750 so you can leave it in a given gear longer. The chip also removes the top speed governor. I really liked it and wish I could somehow keep it in my car but it can not be reworked to work with my SC...I never had the car dyno tested but from what my Mech. and teh dinan site said it provided about a 10 hp gain
