hi all,
i am replacing rims and will soon have a set of (5) Style 42's availible.

they are in very good condition with only a little road rash on a few. the spare is pristine with an unused tire.

the wheels will be availible in about a week. shipping with OE Continental Sports, however they are very low in tread (except for the spare).

pictures of the actual wheels, are here

http://www.theunder.com/wheels/hi-res/

please send a PM or an email to djgman@theunder.com if you are interested.

i agree, and true - there are 2 versions. these are 17"s. 17x8, i believe. one of the sport-package options. i will have to double-check the width, for you.

Do you have a 5 series? Just thought you (and everyone else) should know these won't fit a 3 series w/out some serious spacers... it will offset the geometry of your suspension, and probably isn't worth having your car drive weird. There are style 42's for 3 series by bbs - my friend bought a set for about $400 in perfect condition (16x7.5) Look freakin' awesome. These wheels will only fit (without major modifications): E23, E24, E28, E31, E32, E34, E38, and E39 becuase of the offset and center hub diameter.

I love this wheel style, so I sent you a PM

Eric, you can get these rims with an offset of 35/40mm in a 17. BMW says that style 42 in 17 (17 x 8) will fit on the e36; in their wheel book it shows these with many different sizes for practically all BMW applications. These rims are gorgeous; I actually found someone selling these with my offset on ebay.

yes I know you can - these PARTICULAR wheels wont fit any 3 series of any kind.

Just becuase the wheels are the same dimensions (ie 17x8) doesnt mean the offset will be the same. If bmw says they are the same, then bmw is wrong (don't call me crazy, they have the wrong belt sizes listed for my 1989 535i which has bmw's 30 year old motor...)

I have style 42 on my car....I wasn't sure how yours coudl be 42 too, but then I looked at http://zoouz.free.fr/wheels.htm and saw there are two style 42's. One is Style 42 like mine and your Style 42 (bolted). The bolted is a great looking wheel.
thanks for that link, now i got a new avatar ^^;; too lazy to crop and upload my wheels.. how sad..

anyway, OP the wheels look nice. hope you move them soon. and even if not, i'm sure eric will take em off your hands in the fall.

sorry, all or nothing...

all or nothing. and as an FYI - i will soon put new tires on them. couldn't wait any longer. i would still consider selling the set, but of course, the price would increase to cover the tires.

Help !!!

Help me out here fellas, Im fairly new to the forum and need some info as to where/what/when did these Style 42 Wheels BMW OE come about. They are quite similar to the BBS aftermarket ones.

Actually?? They are quite subtle and modest as far as BLING ! BLING ! goes??

I have it set up with 205/55/16 right now for the winter and will put the 17's ( upsize )on this summer.

Thanks for the help guys!!

Cheers and Happy Holiday to you all!!
